HYMN TO LIFE (by Mother Theresa of Calcutta)

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

"A morte devagar" (Slowly dies) by Martha Medeiros

This passage, written in 2000, by Brazilian writer Martha Medeiros (Porto Alegre, Brazil 20/08/1961)  was one of the major fountains of inspiration from which I "drank" while chasing this dream. There are countless versions; I will try to return the translated text in its complete version; modifying, if necessary, in order to give body to the original interpretation.

He who does not exchange ideas, opinions, who shuns contradictions.
who becomes slave, repeating every day the same path and always buying the same things.
Who does not change brand, does not risk to wear a new color,
does not talk to strangers ... Dies Slowly

He who makes of television his guru and his daily companion ...  Slowly dies
Too many people cannot buy a book or a movie ticket,
many alienate in front of a picture tube that carries information and entertainment;
but that should not , even with only 14 inches, take so much space in our lives.

He or she who shuns passion ... Slowly dies
who prefers black on white and clear and precise situations
instead of a whirl of wild emotions;
the kind that make your eyes sparkle,
that turn a yawn a smile;
those that make your heart beat,
in the face of mistakes and feelings.

He who does not overthrow the table when unhappy with his job ...  Slowly dies
who does not risk certainty for uncertainty to pursue a dream,
Who does not, at least once in his life, run away from some good and sound advice.

He who does not travel, does not read .. Slowly dies
who does not listen to music, who does not find grace in himself.

He who destroys his own self-confidence. ... Slowly dies
It may be depression, which is a serious disease and requires comfort.
In this way die those who do not ask for help ..

He or who does not work and those who do not study ... Slowly dies
most of the times this, not by choice, but for fate.
This is how a careless government can slowly kill a the hearts and souls of the people.

He who passes his days complaining of bad luck or the incessant rain,
those giving up a project before starting it,
who do not ask questions on subjects they do not know,
who do not answer when asked about something they know ... Slowly die

Too many people die slowly, and this is the most ungrateful and treacherous death,
because when she approaches, in fact, we are still too inexperienced
to enjoy the life that remains. Tomorrow, then, it will be our day.
Since we can not avoid an abrupt end, at least try to avoid death in small doses,
always remembering that being alive requires an effort far greater
than the simple act of breathing. "

Ponte Coperto (Covered Bridge) and the Cathedral of Pavia

The pictures taken with our fragrances and their boxes  found in the web pages, were taken in Pavia, in a beautiful late winter day. The background had to be the symbol of the  city: the "Ponte Coperto" (covered bridge).
The first bridge dates back to Emperor Augustus (Rome 09/23/63 a.c. - Nola 08/1914 d.c.). You can see some remains, especially in periods of low water near the present bridge.
The current version that we can admire today is the reconstruction carried out after World War II. Work began in 1949 and ended in 1951. The first version of the covered bridge dates back to 1351, designed by Giovanni Ferrara and Jacopo da Cozzo.

In the background we can see the dome of the cathedral, another symbol of the capital. Work began in 1488, ordered by Cardinal Ascanio Sforza, and continued for centuries, until the present day.

Soon we will have some photos and news about the third symbol of the city of Pavia: the 'University of Pavia", founded by the Emperor Lotharius in 825 d.c. and the nearby Certosa di Pavia, whose works began in the late fourteenth century (1396), by the will of Gian Galeazzo Visconti, Lord of Milan.
